Audience:
Technical Teams, Developers, Account Managers, Database Administrators, and Product Teams.
Description of Issue:
When running API calls to the Positouch integration, Posi may return errors across the API. This doc explores the errors specific to Positouch, what causes them, and how to fix them. This guide should cover most of the errors that come across, but may be updated based upon future releases and changes.
Solution:
Use the below chart to find the error, what is causing the error, and how to correct the error
Positouch Error Responses |
||
| Error | What does it mean? | How is it fixed? |
| XML did not respond within 10 seconds | Positouch did not respond via XML within the 10 second time period | Confirm that the location is licensed for XML functions by running security.exe from the SC folder of the Posi server. If this is correct, go back to the XML I/O setup and confirm the XMLs are setup correctly, with matching numbers of the filepaths. |
| Payment does not contain expected CC number entries | The payment you are using is not setup correctly in Positouch |
Using the install guide, go back through the process of setting up a payment in Positouch again. Specifically look the User Defined CC setup, as this creates the dummy bin ranges used for the CC processing. |
| Employee cannot perform ticket functions | Employee is not capable of ringing in tickets and/or taking payments |
In the employee setup, there is a "User Type" field. This field needs to be an active field that has the correct permissions to create tickets and take payments. |
User Info not accepted OR Account number must be 7 digits |
Club/Account module is not turned on or configured correctly |
Make sure "Use Club/Account Module?" is turned on in Rest Misc Data>System 1. If that is set, check Acct, Club, and Delivery setup. Make sure "Lookup searches Notes4?" is turned on. |
