Background
This is something that is normally taken care of by the Agent now but sometimes it doesn't set right or the Agent was installed before the program running iber.
In Aloha 14.1+ the service that will be running iber is managed by RAL. RAL will create a windows username and password and set those credentials to run the service.
Using the username created, give permission to specific folders and services so that iber can run and interact with our API
Steps To Implement
- Go to task manager and find out which service is running iber. It will say under the username
- Open services and go to the service you found running iber and go to the properties of that service.
- Go to the log on tab and copy the username
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86) and go to the properties of the POS Agent folder
- Go to the security tab and hit add and then hit add again
- In the box where you can type the names in paste the username you copied and click check names and then OK.
- If it is ATO it might give you two different options one for radiant takeout and one for the helper service select the default radiant takeout
- Select full control and then apply the settings for the user you just added
- Do this again for these two other folders C:\Programdata\POS Agent & C:\Windows\Temp
- Go to the Start Menu and type in services and look for "Component Services"
- Click on computers and then go to the properties of My Computer
- Go to the COM Security tab and then under the launch and activation permissions click edit default
- Add the user like above but when you are done make sure it has local launch and local activation checked. Then hit ok and you are done with lease privilege mode
