If Possible, before uninstalling our POS Agent program, please back up the general.ini and site.ini.
The location of these files is C:\Program Files x86)\POS Agent\
- Please uninstall both the Omnivore and POSAgent programs using the Add/Remove Programs feature in Windows.
- Once you’ve uninstalled the Omnivore and POSAgent programs on the decommissioned system, you can install the software on the newly commissioned system using the following steps:
- Go to https://panel.omnivore.io/login in your web browsers and log in.
- Once logged in, click on Locations at the top of the page.
- Find the location that you wish to replace. It should be showing as Offline with a red icon.
- Click on the Location name to open the Location’s page. On the Location’s page, you’ll see an Actions button in the top right. Click that to open a drop-down menu and click Reinstall. (Note: You can only Click Reinstall if you are the owner of the location.)
- This will place the Location in what we refer to as a Pending state. Once you do that the location will be in a pending state and you can download an installer directly for the location.
- Next you’ll want to scroll down to the Installation section of the page and click to expand it. There you’ll see a link to download our Agent installer as well as the Activation Code to copy.
- When running the installer, a page will come up for you to sign up or sign in. Please close this page.
- Navigate to the Windows System Tray and find the Omnivore icon. Right-click on that and select Activate.
- A page will open where you can paste the Activation Code.
- Please go to the Location’s Page on the Panel and ensure the Location comes online.
- Finally, once you see that the Panel is showing the Location as Online, replace only the general.ini file in the same location it was from the steps above. Please do not replace the site.ini file; we ask that it is backed up in case we need to activate without an initial internet connection.
- Once replaced, please restart the POS Agent and POS Agent Updater Services in Windows. After about 10 minutes, the location should be online and working.
